How to Moisturize Dry Hands and Arms Naturally

How to Moisturize Dry Hands and Arms Naturally

Why do hands and arms get so dry?

Hands and arms are exposed to more daily wear than almost any other part of your body — frequent handwashing, sun exposure, and seasonal changes all strip away natural oils, leaving skin feeling rough, tight, and flaky. The good news? A consistent natural moisturizing routine can make a huge difference.

Step 1: exfoliate

Moisturizer works best on freshly exfoliated skin. Dead skin cells create a barrier that prevents hydrating ingredients from penetrating deeply. A gentle sugar scrub removes that layer and preps skin to absorb moisture more effectively.

Our Moisturizing Body Scrub is formulated with fine sugar granules and nourishing oils that exfoliate and moisturize at the same time — making it perfect for dry hands and arms.

How to exfoliate:

  • In the shower or over a sink, take a small amount of scrub and massage it into damp skin using circular motions.
  • Focus on rough patches like knuckles and elbows.
  • Rinse thoroughly with warm (not hot) water.
  • Pat skin dry.

Step 2: apply a rich body balm

Right after drying off (within 2–3 minutes), while your skin is still slightly damp, apply a nourishing body balm. Damp skin absorbs moisture more readily than completely dry skin.

Our Hand & Body Balm is packed with plant-based butters and oils that melt into skin, creating a protective barrier that locks in moisture. It's ideal for hands and arms that need serious nourishment.

How to apply:

  • Glide tube over hands, cuticles, arms, and elbows.
  • Rub in gently with fingers.
  • Pay extra attention to extra dry spots like knuckles, cuticles and backs of hands.

Step 3: repeat throughout the day

Consistency is everything. For best results:

  • Exfoliate 2–3 times a week.
  • Apply balm daily, especially after washing hands or showering.
  • Keep a balm at your desk or in your bag for on-the-go touch-ups.

Ingredients to look out for (and watch out for!)

When choosing moisturizing products, look for these skin-loving ingredients:

  • Shea butter — deeply nourishing, rich in vitamins A and E
  • Jojoba oil — mimics skin's natural sebum, absorbs quickly
  • Coconut oil — deeply moisturizing
  • Sugar — draws moisture to the skin

Also, avoid dyes, synthetic fragrance and unnecessary chemicals that can irritate dry, sensitive skin. Keep it simple!
